June 24, 2010

Social Bookmarking is a great way to promote other blogger’s posts (not just your own!) In Social Bookmarking websites, users create and store bookmarks of their choice. These bookmarks can be viewed by others and that let them know about new services and latest concepts which are making news in the online world.

Utilizing all these sites may look overwhelming but it’s not.  There are several good tools that I use to help me:

  1. Ping.fm: Ping.fm is a simple and FREE service that makes updating your social networks a snap!
  2. Onlywire: OnlyWire syndicates your content and articles to the web’s top social networking sites with a single button click.

  1. That's a LOT!

Now, I know you helped me get setup with StumbleUpon or something. I haven't used it since. If I use Ping.fm, can I easily share a post on Twitter, Facebook, StumbleUpon, and Digg? If so, I want you to teach me how to set it up. That's a priceless tool. :)

  2. HI Kevin,

I feel you've done an excellent job of compiling the main bookmarking sites & explaining a little bit about each ~ as I had some problems with OnlyWire, I tend to use Ping.fm as my main now, and use OW for only 12 (wish OW worked better for me). A couple of my fav bookmarking sites are Stumbleupon & Digg, and I'm still trying to totally figure out how SU really works, and how you connect with others thru it…lol! Great post! :-)

  8. I can't only get onlywire to work with around 12 consistently too. I am still working on it! :)

Stumbleupon is a great tool. The best way to utilize it is by installing the stumbleupon toolbar. It makes stumbling very easy. Also, when you install the toolbar you can share posts with other "friends" on stumbleupon. I have subscribed to you on stumbleupon and have accepted your shares on my tool bar.

  10. Hi Kevin!

Great to meet you in TSA and here on your blog! This is a very helpful article and a topic that I need to learn more about! I am signed up for onlywire, but have not yet found the time to sign up for all the different sites. I guess that I need to make that a priority!

Thanks for sharing this important info. I look forward to visiting again and getting to know you better!
