God’s love is permanent and unchanging

Life has trained many of us to think of love as temporary and conditional.  It’s like the story of a young girl who gave her boyfriend a picture of herself in a frame.  On the back of her picture, she wrote him a short note: “I love you more than life itself. I am yours forever. Love always, Ashley.”

Her unconditional commitment contained this postscript at the bottom: “P.S. If we ever break up, I want this picture back – it’s the only one I have.”

God’s love is different.

God’s love is permanent and unchanging.

Jeremiah 31:3

While others may love today and abandon you tomorrow, God’s love never changes.

He loves me, He loves me not

God’s love isn’t like the game many people played when they were younger when they were thinking of someone they liked.  You know the game.  You pick up a daisy and start pulling off pedals while you are saying “He/She loves me. He/She loves me not. He/She loves me. He/she loves me not.”

When some of us have a good day at work we say, “God loves me.”

If we lose our temper at work, we say, “God loves me not.”

We helped someone in need. He loves me.

We walked by a person in need. He loves me not.

We think that God’s love is entirely based on our performance.  We think that we have to earn God’s love.

God loves us because God …. Is … Love.

We never have to doubt God’s love for us!

We can live in complete assurance and confidence of it!

God raises only one-pedaled daisies in the garden on His love

How should these truths affect the way you live?

  1. I’m glad that I came across page your page, it’s really beautiful. That’s true that God loves us all.

  2. You’re so right, Kevin. It’s a roller coaster we don’t need to ride. He really and completely loves us and offers us not only the idea of such love, but the experience of it. Thank you.

  3. You are so right here, Kevin. God’s love is truly permanent, unchanging and unconditional, irrespective of everything. We may not feel it many a times but He is there, watching all of us.

  4. Hi Kevin,

I remember when I was young, I used to do that “he loves me, he loves me not” thingy. :) I agree that many humans tend to say that there are some types of love that are unconditional and they say that they feel and give that to the ones they love; but when something bad happens, their love sways, changes, and it comes to the point that they leave them. On the other hand, God’s love never sways or changes.

I actually have experienced certain hurdles in my life that made me think that no one loves me and nobody cared about me – and my last resort, I turned to Him. For me, His Love seemed like it was more than enough. Thank you for sharing this wonderful post about God’s Love, Kevin.

  5. Hey Kevin,
Must say, a very beautiful post!! God’s love is an eternal one and is with us each and every time, even when other leave us. Even when we decide to walk alone in life, the love of God never changes for us and continues to be our guiding force. I truly believe in the power and love of God. Thanks for writing such a warm post.

  6. The mere fact that God gave us his only begotten son to save us all from eternal damnation is the greatest expression of the unconditional and everlasting love that he has for us all. Thanks for the share :)

  7. I thank God everyday for his unconditional love and his endless provisions. It’s amazing how much he loves each and every one of us no matter how disobedient we are. Thanks for the inspiring share and may God continue to bless us all abundantly.

  8. God’s love is unconditional for each one of us. I think whenever something goes bad, we start blaming God rather than accepting the consequences of our action which should not be the case…thanks for this wonderful share…

  9. God’s love is constant and enduring. Thanks for the motivation you provided me today. God Bless!
