Immeasurably more . . .

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21

I shouldn’t be surprised when I experience this verse in life – but I still am. Last April, the churches in my area were presented with the idea of using the “Why” book as an opportunity to impact our communities. This book is put out by an organization called the “Why Encounter.” All of us were very impressed with the book. It is extremely well put together. The idea was to hit every home in our area just before Easter of 2008. Unfortunately though, when we figured out the cost, we felt that it was going to be way too much of an investment for our churches to make. Our faith at the time was not large enough to trust God to provide. Thankfully God didn’t hold that against us. :)

Last week, one of the pastors from our community received a phone call saying that 1750 “Why” books were waiting for us to pick them up! We have NO idea who donated them. All we know is that they were donated specifically for our region to be used as an outreach tool. With some quick planning, we have decided that we are going to deliver all of these books to every home in our area this Saturday so that people will have them in their hands before Easter. We serve a GREAT God who “is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine!”
