My moment in Olympic history

October 30, 2009 — 2 Comments

This morning the Olympic torch began it’s journey across Canada. Around 9 am a plane from Greece arrived in Victoria, BC with the official flame. From there it made it’s way to the Legislative Building. After some speeches from many dignitaries (Premier Gordon Campbell, Prime Minister Stephan Harper, John Furlong – VanOC CEO and a few others) the torch was lit and the first runners (Simon Whitfield and Catriona Lemay Doan ) took off with it. Here are some of the pictures that I took:

Lots of people came out for this historic event.

There was a ton of security.

The Canadian flag was flying proud today.

You can’t have a big event without a celebrity (Jane Seymour)
