That’s my King!

Today commemorates the 30th anniversary of Elvis Aaron Presley’s death. Because of his legendary status as a rock n’ roll singer Elvis became known as the “King of Rock n’ Roll” or just “The King”. Until this year, I did not even know that this was the anniversary of Elvis’ death. It is only because my wife and I are heading to Memphis next week for a Pastor’s conference that I became aware of it.

What I find most interesting is the ten of thousands of people who will visit his grave this week and in the weeks to follow to remember this man. That’s right, he was just a man. Yes, he had some amazing musical ability and he made some movies but he was just a man. His death was quite tragic (heart attack) and his life that led up to his death was probably more tragic. But yet people will still flock to his grave year after year to remember their “king.”

Well, as a Christian, I remember a different KING. My KING is more than a KING, He is the KING of KINGS and LORD of LORDS. And the best part is I don’t have to go to a grave site to remember my KING because HE is alive and HE is with me always. Here is a short video describing MY KING.

That’s my king! Do you know Him?
