Funny dog and kid video

December 27, 2011 — 15 Comments

We had a fabulous Christmas at the Martineau house and I hope you did too.  Two of my favourite parts of Christmas are watching my girl’s reaction to their gifts and then seeing them play with them.

Lauren and I knew what the perfect gift for our youngest daughter would be this year.  Mallory has been wanting a camera for a long time.  She wanted one so badly that she started saving her money to buy one.  So we started looking for the perfect camera for her and we found one.

She was over the top excited when she opened her present and she started using her camera immediately.  She has spent the last couple of days taking pictures and videos.

One of her videos caught my attention.

It is hilarious!

In the video Mallory is tormenting our two dogs with the elf hats that we had got them for Christmas (I know … we are terrible pet owners:).  The best part is her monologue as she is doing it. :)

What has been the best gift you have ever received for Christmas?

It can be hard to know when you need a new job.  How do you know when it is time to move on?  How do you know when your job is not a great fit for you?  How do you know when it is time to look for greener pastures?

If you find yourself asking these questions, here are a few ways to know if it may be time to look for a new job:

What would you add to this list?

People of the Second Chance

People of the Second Chance just released a new film called “Deep Dark Blackness.” It’s a time-lapse-fine-art video created by Jeremy Cowart that explores the issues of evil, darkness and the beauty of radical grace. They have asked people to view it and then share their responses.

I found this video to be very powerful and moving because it showcases the beauty of radical grace.

I have to admit it was hard for me to hold back my feelings of judgment as the different pictures of people were added to the drawing.

We all know these people’s “sins.”

They have been paraded before us through the media.

But as I continued to watch I had to remind myself that my face should be included in that picture too.

I am no different from these people other than my “sins” have been kept a lot more private.

All of us are in need of radical grace.

All of us have received radical grace through Jesus’ sacrifice for us.

Now we need to show that same radical grace to those around us.

What are your thoughts on this video?  How did it make you feel?

God is not a white man

March 10, 2011 — 17 Comments

While I was at Catalyst West last week I was introduced to the band Gungor.  I fell in love with their music right away!  They sang some very powerful songs that totally resonated with me.

Gungor also sang some silly stuff too.  One of the songs they played was a silly song called “White Man.”  Even though it is silly and funny it still has a great message.  Listen closely to the words.

What are your thoughts on video?  Have you ever listened to any of Gungor’s music?

Gungor has two CD’s, Beautiful Things (I bought this CD and I love it) and Ancient Skies (this is the CD with the song “White Man.”

My sister and her family came and visited this weekend.  We had a great time!  We went for a hike and made a trip to the beach.   Our kids also had a lot of fun together.

This is a video of my daughter and my nephew play fighting.  At the end of the “fight” my wife tells them to “hug it out.” My nephew runs away screaming “NO!” with my daughter chasing after him. It is hilarious!

Do you like to be hugged?

I am tired today and have very little inspiration, so I thought I would share something on the lighter side.  This post fits under the “whatever else is on my mind” category of my blog. :)

This is a video by Julien Smith that came out about 2 years ago.  I think it is absolutely hilarious.  For the record, I don’t hate Facebook but I can relate to many of these complaints.   Check them out:

Which one (s) did you relate to the most?  Which one (s) did you find the most funny?
